Make sure the lighting’s right: Glaring bulbs? No thanks. Strip lighting? Definitely not. If you haven’t got dimmers, turn everything off and light some candles instead. You’ll instantly transform any room into a cosy haven.

Keep strong smells out of the room: Overpowering incense or fragranced candles can mean you cannot use all your senses to explore and enjoy your wine. Keep it simple and neutral, and your experience will be wonderful.

Choose your company carefully: If the people you’re with are boring, your Vinturi/ you time is wasted…make sure you don’t invite anyone who’ll be a killjoy for the evening.
