While we here at Vinturi have been spending our summer evenings enjoying a lovely glass of red and unwinding on the sofa, some rather clever scientist types in Norway have been researching how said glass of wine may well decrease the risks of people developing dementia in later life. According to the findings, which followed 5, 033 middle-aged men and women over a seven-year period, those who drank wine around four times across a two week time frame performed better in cognitive tests than those who drank fewer times, with women who never drank at all coming in with the lowest scores. Of course, all alcohol consumption was done in moderation, something which we continually support.
The article detailing all this fascinating information, published on Healthjackal.com, also suggested that the results of the testing may also have been affected by other factors in the participant’s lives; having a stable financial and social background meant that they were more able to moderate their drinking patterns, and thus reap the possible benefits of this.
